Message: Strapped: Part IV – Putting God First           Introduction
    1. TITHING IS RETURNING THE FIRST 10% OF OUR INCOME TO GOD’S CHURCH.
A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD...  Lev 27:30
    1. TITHING IS GIVING GOD MY FIRST AND BEST SO HE CAN BLESS THE REST.
Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; 10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
    Prov 3:9-10
    1. TITHING PROVIDES FOR GOD’S WORK THROUGH THE CHURCH.
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house…
    Mal 3:10
    1. TITHING TEACHES ME TO PUT GOD FIRST.
The purpose of tithe is to teach you to always put God first in your lives.
    Deut 14:23 TLB
8 "Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me." But you ask, 'How do we rob you?' "In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse — the whole nation of you — because you are robbing me. Mal 3:8-9 23 "What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore the more important aspects of the law—justice, mercy, and faith. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things. Matt 23:23 NLT
    1. TITHING BUILDS MY FAITH IN GOD.
Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. Mal. 3:10b

    Heb. 12:2
If you pay $217.93 per month on $14,517 at 18%, it will take 40 years to pay off debt (totaling $104,606.40). If you invest $14,517 at 12% for 40 years = $1,350,820.94. If you invest $14,517 and add $217.93 per month at 12% over 40 years = 3,597,615.75  3)  EMBRACE THE VALUE OF PLANNING. Suppose one of you wants to build a tower.
